Franschhoek is a beautiful village in wine county and the Coach House is a charming place to stay. Although the property is a 4 overall, it is a 5 for the price range. Our garden room was very nice with a small patio and modern tiled bathroom. Sharon and Charlie were extremely helpful with suggestions for eating, wineries and hiking....
After wonderful days in Cape Town we stayed here for 2 nights. Old historic buildings with lovely interior. Walking distance to the main road in Franschhoek with lots of nice restaurants and shops. The service was always great and the breakfast delicious. It is a perfect cozy place to stay and we can highly recommend it to everybody who wants...
My family stayed recently at the Mont Rochelle in Franschhoek and were totally disappointed. The rooms and location were fine but the cleanliness and customer service left a great deal to be desired. There were a few heavy cast iron beds round the pool with even less mattresses. The staff told us that the guests take the mattresses to their...
Reasonably priced hotel in central Franschhoek with plenty of parking available. Rooms are on 2 levels around a nice pool with sun loungers and a lovely view of the mountains. Bedrooms are a decent size with two 3' beds and a large bathroom with shower and bath. Breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of fruit, juices, cereals, breads and...
The rooms still good but food was terrible. Dry overcooked Chicken, very poor. Lovely grey diningroon chairs badly stained Tried to order room service, an hour later they said too busy and could not do room service.
What a special and absolutely unique place to stay! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who were very helpful and accommodated us to a large extent! The apartment was very beautiful - modern with a warm touch and very clean. I highly recommend this accommodation - such a treat!!
We stayed at The Villas over a Friday and Saturday night at the end of a week long vacation in the Cape Town Area. Our first night at The Villas was lovely. The Villas are set in a beautiful and tranquil location. Our small but cozy single villa was at the edge of the property with an unobstructed view of...
Tucked away behind a large wall, Franschoek is a French -designed house in South Africa’s winelands, about 1-1/2 hours from Cape Town. You’ll think you’re in Italy or France with the period furnishings and formal gardens. . Our large twn-bedded room was on the ground floor and opened to a patio with fountains and abundant groomed greenery. (You can’t sleep...
This is a lovely cosy pretty b&b in the centre of Franschoek. It is very well situated to allow you to stroll around the town. Great recommendations from the manager for wine tours, restaurants etc. Pool is lovely to relax after a busy day wine tasting. I highly recommend this place.
Like a previous reviewer I had difficulty with the title as well. This place is beautiful and is in a grand location. The food is excellent both at breakfast and at dinner. The lovely wait and room staff are great people doing a great job.
Maybe I'm just a bit picky but I thought the atmosphere was a bit stiff...
Nice place, very clean, friendly staff. Maybe we are unlucky, bur there was party going on till very late (on Thu night), with very loud disco music. They could have at least invited us! We were expecting a relaxing place in the middle of nowhere...
Apparantly, it was very stupid of me to have left my bag in the room while we went to the Tasting room and the common room for 2 consecutive nights. I didn't realize money was lost till the end of the trip, when we need to use my stack of 1000 Rand. What was left was only 8 bills of...
Of the eight or nine places we stayed during a three week tour around South Africa--ranging from two stars to luxury five stars--the Auberge Bligny ranked dead last. Cold, musty room,(Jack, the owner, couldn't fix the heater so tossed us an extra blanket and stomped off to bed.), tucked in the back of a worn-out inn. It's long overdue for...
We stayed with Sunny Lane for 2 days and that was well enough. The owner wasn't even there when we arrived so the maid let us in. When she did arrive home, she wasn't the least interested in us and didn't even bother to come in with us to make sure everything was ok. The room was fine, but the...
