We believed Zululand Safari Lodge was a 4 star and was one of the stars of the 'Three Cities Groups' of hotels. Far from the Hluhluwe game reserve, terrible service, disgusting food, everything goes wrong in this place. The worst is the traditionnal zoulou danse, a place with no motivate people explaining the zoulou culture. touristic but not traditionnal at all. Only the lodge concept is good with zoulou house accommodation.

Nice room, nice amenities, good location. Housekeeper moved our clothes out of our sight. We forgot them and asked the landlady to send them to us,(Europe) which of course we would pay for. She tried to charge us for a damaged quilt which we were definitely not responsible for. Finally she agreed on sending the clothes, we transfered the money...

A good place to go to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. We found a nlovely garden and friendly and helpful hosts. You can even have dinner there so that you don't have to find a restaurant after a busy day in Hluhluwe. If it wasn't for Hluhluwe you wouldn't go to this village anyway.

This is a game lodge where the animals roam around under the raised walkways. It is relatively small, and the atmosphere is friendly and intimate. Zebra passed beside my lodge early morning. The lodges are well spaced out and comfortable, but don't expect five star luxury. This is not what it's about. I greatly enjoyed my stay there.
