Claudia L is completely right. They sent us to another hotel. The other hotel wasn't confort at all. They did't explained us anything, they just lied to us saying that it was the same hotel and, of course, it wasn't true.
The replay of the Pakachi Beach Hotel to Claudia it´s another lie. We booked one month in advance and...
I visited this hotel located in a beautiful location by the beach on a coral rock, when i travelled to Zanzibar.
I took the fast ferry from Dar Es Salam and it was very comfortable and luxurious, in the VIP section. The ferry took less than 2 hrs. After arriving in Stone town I walked few hours and decided to...
Lovely location but that's the only positive thing about this place, Food - average, i.e. tinned hot dogs/mushy peas/tinned fruit/stale bread. The BBQ at dinner was the best and freshest, so if you have already booked then head for this. If you haven't yet booked, then, don't. There are much nicer places to stay, try Pongwe. Much more exclusive and...
so we arrived at Karamba, it was over 40 with the humidity, the rooms aren't air conditioned and there is a ceiling fan that tries unsuccessfully to move air. Our toilet seat was attached with rope, which broke the 2nd day. It did get replaced that day but why wouldn't it have been fixed before our group of 14 got...
For our Zanzibar honeymoon, we decided for our first few nights to be at the Hakuna Matata Beach Lodge. I really wanted to impress her with a room in their honeymoon suite that looked over the water. Our trip for October was booked in March with confirmation for the honeymoon suite. You can only understand our surprise when they put...
Pumzika is nestled in a quiet and tourist-free area of Zanzibar. The South East is still free from large and noisy resorts so we enjoyed the quietness of the place. Although just 1 hour drive from Stone Town, very close to Kizimkazi and the dolphins, Pumzika has everything on hand.
Our bungalow was quite charming and the large pool more...
Both good and bad points (quite surprised with reviewers saying, everything is great).
Good: Hotel staff is very nice and extremely helpful. All inclusive is good value for many, although you would get bored at some point as the food tends to be repetitive (especially breakfast and snacks). There's a safe provided free of charge.
Bad: the sheets had to...
We visited this hotel, which used to be Emersons, last week. It is a lovely old building however is was grubby and poorly kept. The hotel seemed to be run for the convenience of the staff and visitors were a nuisance. The food was extremely poor and charged at central London prices, the entertainment was inappropriate for the space available...
To stay at Serena on Zanzibar is a bit like staying elsewhere on a serena hotel in east Africa, but with a real feeling of the Zanzibari style. I have stayed here several times on my business trips and I can realy recommend this to others.
on the plus side;
+ location, sea side, excellent sundowner terace, and hotel close...
I must start by confessing that I only visited the bar of the hotel one afternoon, so my opinions are rather limited.
The bar is certainly well stocked, and reasonably priced (compared to other hotels in East Africa). The bar staff were welcoming and friendly.
The hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere, and felt that it would be a good...
This is quite simply poor value for money: overpriced food for the quality, so-so rooms with an exaggerated and badly done sense of history. My wife and I spent a night when we had intended to stay on for two nights after staying at Next Paradise Hotel (fabulous!) but instead we left for home a day early. She said, "this...
We had a wonderful relaxing time at Next Paradise. The staff are very friendly but very much leave you to yourself unless you ask for their assistance, which was perfect for us. Great pool, which leads onto a white sandy beach. Sea not great for swimming but lots of kite-surfers. Clean, beautiful rooms with very comfy beds.
The food in...
