Our Jubilee Book Club were so excited about having High Tea at the Last Word, Constantia.
What a disappointment! Seated in the hot and glarey conservatory, bowl of wilted roses on the table and NOTHING else! No one approached us about the way it works. After half an hour we realised it was self service and went up to the...
I recently visited Kolping guest house in Durbanville in WC last week for a conference. I was disgusted in the manner in which I was handled because I queried my halaal food. I was treated as if I was being ridiculous and could hear the conversation in the kitchen insinuating this. The kitchen had put the halaal and un halaal...
Nice spacious rooms. The hotel is in a busy part of the city so when the bars close late at night it can get quite noisy. Everything was very clean. There lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Free wifi was a plus. I loved the minimalist decor of the rooms which were simple yet comfortable.
I have been staying in this hotel on a regular basis for the last 12 years. This is where the company I work for chooses to put me up. Some rooms have been refurbished a few years ago but the rest is just as it was 12 years ago.
Rooms are filthy and in serious need of remodeling. Same old...
I booked myself and a friend into the spa at Stillness Manor as it was her birthday and I wanted to treat her and it was near where we were staying. The bookings had been mixed up so we could only get half the treatments we wanted and when I complained to the manager nothing was done to fix things...
Stayed with Barry & Mina in December last year. We had a lovely time, the house's decor fits well with the age of the property. We spent some time in the lovely garden relaxing in the Jacuzzi which was great. Barry is a wealth of information on Cape Town and was always on hand to help. I defiantly recommend Jambo...
This is my second time to stay here with Trevor and Liz. On this occasion I was competing in the Cape Argus, a well known and superb cycling event with over 35,000 entrants. Trevor and Liz could not have been more helpful and supportive, Trevor even helped me to assemble my bike on his lawn and made sure I had...
I am utterly disgusted in the service from the spa at Romney Park. I bought a voucher a month ago for a treatment including a facial, back massage and manicure or pedicure. The treatment, stated on the voucher, was for 2hrs 15 min.
My appointment was for 17:00. Once my treatments were complete and I went back to the changing...
I stayed here for 3 nights this last December and would never return. On arrival I was shown to my room and given a key by the cleaner (who was friendly) and I never saw any management until I paid on the last day. There is a list of what to do and not to do in your room but...
Bedroom was charming, clean and vintage South Africa. Hotel was like going back to the good old days as was the rest of the town. This is the oldest pub in SA, so it lives up to that expectation.
Only downside was the bathroom which could do with a revamp, but it was servicable and clean.
The staff were great and very helpful, but the rooms are terribly small with no air conditioning, which is horrible during the summer!
At the outset, this review is about the actual layout and logistics of this hotel and not the staff as they were all wonderful, friendly and helpful.
In my opinion This is not a boutique hotel, it is more a large guest house. Entrance into the property is awkward, you have to leave your vehicle in the road to press...
Cascades on the Promenade is a guest house situated between Main and Beach Roads in Sea Point. They have a restaurant which is open to the public. My first experience there was when I went with a friend for a cuppacino and croissant which we both had. I asked for a glass of water and ice and they refused point...
